Spotlighting Donya Mansouri: DT Launch Pad Participant: Deep Catalyst

Donya Mansouri is an emerging MedTech innovator with a background in Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and is currently pursuing her medical degree at Brunel University London. Passionate about advancing regenerative medicine through sustainable and socially impactful technologies, she founded Tilapia Revive, a deep-tech startup transforming aquaculture by-products into next-generation healthcare innovations.

Burn injuries affect millions of people each year, often leaving lasting physical and emotional scars. Conventional treatments, from grafts to topical therapies, remain costly, painful and inaccessible for many patients, particularly in low-resource settings. Tilapia Revive is reimagining this landscape with a personalised therapeutic facial system designed to support recovery, improve patient comfort and restore confidence. By using advanced design methodologies, precision facial modelling and novel biomaterial concepts, the venture is creating patient-specific solutions that elevate clinical performance and enhance the overall healing experience. This vision is captured in the company’s flagship concept- TFM.

Sustainability is at the core of Tilapia Revive’s mission. By upcycling under-utilised aquaculture materials and integrating them into a circular healthcare model, the venture connects environmental responsibility with clinical innovation. Its early focus includes collaborations with burn units, trauma centres and humanitarian organisations committed to providing effective and affordable care for individuals affected by burn injuries. In the future, Tilapia Revive also aims to expand into wellness markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East with products inspired by the same regenerative principles.

Tilapia Revive is currently positioned at Technology Readiness Level 4–6 and is advancing through prototype development, early validation and refinement of its personalised design approach. The venture is entering a phase of structured strategic development, with clear plans for IP, commercial readiness and future clinical integration. Donya’s vision is to establish Tilapia Revive as a global leader in sustainable regenerative burn care, shaping a future where healing technologies are both impactful and environmentally responsible.

Through her involvement in DT Launch Pad and the guidance of experienced mentors, clinicians and innovation specialists, Donya is steadily preparing Tilapia Revive for investment readiness and long-term scale. The venture reflects her commitment to developing solutions that are clinically meaningful, accessible and environmentally forward-thinking, offering renewed hope, dignity and healing to burn patients around the world.
